2023 Scandinavian Festival Features Iceland!

Special Icelandic Events - Please share by Romayne Kilde, Nordic Culture Clubs Scandinavian Festival


The Nordic Culture Clubs and the Fargo-Moorhead Icelandic Klub are hosting the 2023 Scandinavian Festival. Join us in June for many special events. The festival's Opening Ceremonies with the flag processional and welcome speeches will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, June 22nd, at Drekker Brewhalla, 1666 1st Ave N, Fargo, ND.

Icelandic Roots Member and Author Heidi Herman will have several programs each day.

Many events will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 23-24, 2023. IR President Sunna Furstenau will present an educational program each day on an art exhibition, 'The Icelandic Emigration Journey - From Turfhouses to Prairie Homesteads.' Sunna will also give a live demonstration of the best features of the Icelandic Genealogy Database. Volunteers from all Nordic countries will also be available in the Nordic Genealogy Lab.


The rest of the weekend schedule is available on the website. The hours are 10-5 pm both days at the Hjemkomst Center and Viking Park in Moorhead, Minnesota.
